The Anarchist in the Girl.
I haven’t called myself anarchist for the longest time, years, actually. I got tired of the label. Many people thought it was a phase or worst, a fashion statement. Also people confused me with the lefty party, “fupista”, “machetera”, “nacionalista”, “pipiola”, “terrorist”, “criminal”, “hippy”, “tirapiedra”. All derogatory terms by the way. All incorrect they imply an affiliation to a political party.
Anarchy
- “A theoretical social state in which there is no governing person or body of persons, but each individual has absolute liberty (without the implication of disorder).”
I tried to be militant about so many issues that I wore thin and issues more mundane like “damn!, I don’t know how I’m going to make ends meet” or “There is only one piece of meat, water, half liter of milk, a cup of rice, and a can of tomato sauce. We are four persons and it is still Wednesday”. So I prioritized. Political issues got very down on the list.
So, what changed?
Well, it’s election year. I am neither republican nor democrat. Some people suggested libertarian, but I cannot deal with their stance on privatization of everything, including education and healthcare, lets’ end all welfare, we should all carry guns. Oversimplification maybe, but hey, those are their core statements. I am none of the above.
Say, anarchy and people will think in chaos, in a society without laws, governments, police, taxes. Anarchists know it’s utopian to think of a world without any kind of laws. We all want to make a better world. What actual anarchists do it’s to build communities attainable.
It a complicated label, Anarchist, but right now, I like it better.
I am an anarchist therefore I am entitled to an opinion, a different one.
I am an anarchist therefore I do not follow those political parties. I am very far away from the lefty side. I am not a rebel. I have strong opinion about many issues, I will listen to your point, but I am not backing away. I am going to be quiet no more.
